St Catherine’s Church presents – FIFTIES CABARET TO BENEFIT CUBAN PARISH
Come join St. Catherine’s Music Ministry for a stroll down memory lane as its members present an evening of music from the 50s on Saturday, June 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the parish hall, 107 North Main St., Westford. We’ll go to a hop and rock around the clock as well as enjoy the beautiful harmonies and ballads of the era. Audience participation will include a sing-a-long. Dancing is optional, but everyone will be invited to join in “The Stroll.” Doors open at 7:00 p.m. The suggested donation for the cabaret is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and children.
Refreshments are free. All proceeds benefit Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Aguacate, Cuba. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling 978-692-7778.

Westford card holders have access to Universal Class which provides over 500 FREE on-line Continuing Education Courses! Take an on-line class on Career Development, Early Childhood Development, Domestic Violence Counseling, Basic Accounting, Microsoft Excel, GED Training, Home Ownership, How to Can, Freeze, Dry, and Preserve Food, Italian Cooking, and so many more! These are non-credit courses for personal enrichment. You can enroll in up to 5 courses at a time and you have six months to complete the class. Access your course and complete assignments any time day or night. Each course has a real instructor who you can communicate with via e-mail. To get to this database, go to the Library’s home page and select “Databases” from the menu on the left hand side of the page. Select Universal Class from either the Subject Guide, where you click on “on-line courses” or by scrolling through Alphabetical Listing of Databases. Have fun!

The Westford Academy Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Programs are conducting several summer programs for boys and girls entering grades 3 through 9 next year. There will be a girls’ 4 on 4 league held at Westford Academy in June and July (the Boys’ 4 on 4 league is full), and there will be Boys’ and Girls’ four-day basketball clinics held in late June and early July. The Summer School for the Performing Arts (SSPA) is now accepting registrations for Summer 2013. Under the direction of Michael Towers, SSPA is open to students entering third grade through eleventh grade. The 2013 program will commence on June 24, 2013 and run through August 3, 2013. Hours are 8:30 am to 4:00 pm with extended morning options available.~

WESTFORD SUMMER MUSIC & ART PROGRAM…..
The Westford Summer Music & Art Program (WSMAP) is now accepting registrations for July 2013. Students will have the opportunity to make music and create art in two separate morning programs. Students will work with Westford Public Schools instrumental music and art staff to develop their individual skills and experience the arts with other interested students. The Art Program will be held July 8-12 from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Blanchard Middle School and is open to all students entering fourth through ninth grade in September 2013. The summer curriculum is designed to develop formal skills while encouraging individual artistic expression.
The Instrumental Music Program will be held July 15-19 from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Stony Brook School and designed for students with at least one year of instrumental music instruction entering grades four through nine (string orchestra) and grades five through nine (band) in September 2013. At the culmination of the program, the band and orchestras will perform a free concert on Friday, July 19 at approximately 11:00 AM.
New this summer! If student interest allows, we will offer a string chamber music directly following the elementary and middle school string orchestra sessions on July 15-19. This option is available to students enrolled in either the summer elementary or summer middle school string programs. Participation in the string chamber music will give students the opportunity to participate in an intensive, small group ensemble coached by Todd Hamelin.
