Alcyon Chamber Ensemble’s sixth season of concerts opens at the PCA with music by Vaughan Williams, Dvorak “Dumky” Trio, and a world premier by ACE’s student competition winner, Sidney Richardson.
A 30-minute “Children’s Sampler” for families with young children will precede the concert. ACE is a mixed-instrumentation ensemble (clarinet, horn, piano and strings) of musicians devoted to presenting live chamber music in community settings. The educational arm of the ensemble, Alcyon Chamber Music Institute offers private instrumental instruction and chamber music coaching in Westford

“Tuned in to Mozart” – Alcyon Chamber Ensemble’s spring concert focuses on that great explorer of the range of human emotion – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mozart’s gift of musical transcendence melts barriers and brings us closer together. Sarah Steinhardt, piano; Shufang Du, violin; Shannon Snapp, cello. Reception following the concert. The Berklee Chamber Players is a group of versatile Berklee faculty committed to the art and craft of chamber music that honors the past, present and future. In addition to the time-honored compositions of classical music, this ensemble’s repertoire includes original compositions by Berklee faculty, contemporary chamber music from around the globe, and contemporary genres incorporating the innovations of electronic sound design. Founded by String Department Chair Melissa Howe, the BCP showcases the vital and innovative classical music scene at Berklee.
