The Westford Parent Connection is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary during the 2015–2016 school year. The WPC was formed in 2001 to provide Westford parents and guardians enrichment and educational events to help address a variety of social and emotional issues pertaining to their children's development. The WPC works collaboratively with groups throughout the community, to ensure we address the right topics at the right time. We are grateful for the support from the Westford Public Schools, the Westford Health Department, the Roudenbush Community Center, the Westford Elementary PTO, and the Westford Middle School PTO. To learn more about the organization, contact WPC President Mary Anne Seraphin at email@example.com.
Join us Thursday, April 7, 2016 for Negotiation Generation: Take Back Parental Authority Without Punishment,
with Dr. Lynne Reeves Griffin
Do You Often Wonder Who Is In Charge?
Once upon a time, parents were parents and children were children. Today, our fast-paced lives and changes in popular culture have children claiming more independence than they can handle. Parents are losing their authority, negotiating with their children about everything from what to wear to when to go to bed. Offering too many choices is exhausting and doesn’t teach kids how to handle pressure.
What can parents do?
Join the Westford Parent Connection as we host Dr. Lynne Reeves Griffin as she presents Negotiation Generation: Take Back Parental Authority Without Punishment, on Thursday, April 7, at 7:00 p.m. at Stony Brook Middle School. Whether you are raising toddlers or teenagers, some behaviors are non-negotiable. Dr. Griffin can help parents reclaim their position of authority while forging a stronger, more loving bond with their kids. Her talk is free and open to the public.
